I am following a lead that hopefully will get me past my Smith brick wall. Supposedly this William Smith was formerly of Independence Co. Ark where he served on the Union side in the CW. He applied for a pension as an invalid in 1905. I am looking for any information that will give me leads to any descendants or help me confirm him as a son of my ancestor, James S. Smith.
