I'll show an address below to the Springfield newspaper. A few weeks ago they did a story about the cemetery at the Alms House/Sunshine Acres. The headstones had ALL been removed and stacked nearby so the cemetery would be easier to mow. They were dedicating a memorial area there so people that had loved ones that died there could come there and spend some time in the area where the ancestors died. The newspaper only has a 7 day archive, but maybe you could contact them through this site and get a copy of the article.
