PERRY William E. Perry, 53, of Oak Grove Lane, senior driver for the Greyhound Bus lines in Springfield, died unexpectedly in St. Louis at 9 a.m. yesterday. Mr. Perry made his usual bus run from Springfield to St. Louis Thursday and was preparing to make the return trip when he collapsed and died, apparently of a heart attack. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and is survived by his wife, Irene, and two sons, Capt. W. E. Perry Jr. of Chandler Air Force Base, Ariz., and Jimmy of the home. Also surviving are a brother, H. W. Perry of Sanger, Tex.; six sisters, Mrs. Velta Lester of Abilene, Tex., Mrs. Lorene Skidmore of Denton, Tex., Mrs. Ruby Stone of Celina, Tex., Mrs. Eva Stanton of Plainview, Tex., Mrs. Clara Davis of Dallas and Mrs. Essie Crockett of Prosper, Tex., and by his stepmother, Mrs. J. W. Perry of Prosper. The body will be returned here to the Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home, then sent to Wausau, Wis., for burial. March 13 1955 News Leader, Springfield, Greene Co., MO Deaths WILLIAM E. PERRY Funeral services for William E. Perry, 53, of Oak Grove Lane, senior driver for Greyhound Bus Friday morning in a St. Louis Hospital three hours after suffering a heart attack, will be heldat 4 p.m. Monday in Herman Loymeyer Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. E. H. Koerber, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be fellow Greyhound employees. Following the service here the body will be forwarded to Wausau, Wis., for a second service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Helke funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Lawn [sic] Cemetery there. The Perrys were former residents of Wisconsin where he operated a small bus line in the earlier days of the road trasportation industry. Once on southwestern runs, Mr. Perry was widely known among bus operators of the Greyhound system.
