He was the widower of Melissa Dunham who had died at "Bagnal", MO in 1882. They had 4 sons: William, b. 1867 in NY, who at the time of the 1900 MO census was in Greene Co. [Clay twp.], with a wife Effie & 4 children. Stillman B., b. 1869 in NY; further not known. Clark J., b. 1871 in MO., who in 1900 was married to Mahala & lived in Miller Co., MO. [Eldon city] Charles R., b. 1880 in MO; further not known. I descend from the above John's aunt, Elizabeth Van Nosdall, who married Ezer Livingston & went to WI to live.
