Hello list, writing to ask if anyone is in Springfield who would check for a phone number for me, and to also ask who they recommend I call regarding a burial in the Springfield National Cemetery. The number I was given was apparently a number to the maintenance building. I inquired about a burial there, and they were helpful with the info they had there. Only a name and date of interrment. No birth, death, funeral home, nothing else. There is a possibility that this grave was a relocated one, and would like to obtain more information on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Judy

The number in the phone book is 417-881-9499. There is also another cemetery called Hazelwood Cemetery, owned by the city, which is adjacent to the national cemetery. If the above number is the same number you called, you might try calling the Hazelwood Cemetery at 417-891-1660. I believe they share offices or they are the same office.
