Another researcher/cousin sent me a copy of his death certificate and a picture of his tombstone. He is buried next to his first wife in the "Horner Cemetery". It is a very old cemetery located on a farm. It is off highway 76 near Ava, MO between Bradleyville and Roy. I tried to visit it once, but the farm owners weren't home so I was unable to obtain permission to go on their land. The tombstone is just a concrete slab with ALBRIGHT (JF & JANE) scratched into it. It is possible that my grandfather, Jim Collins, may have made the tombstone. He made a couple of the other tombstones in the same cemetery. And he spent much of his childhood with his grandfather, James Albright.

    3. The number in the phone book is 417-881-9499. There is also another cemetery called Hazelwood Cemetery, owned by the city, which is adjacent to the national cemetery. If the above number is the same number you called, you might try calling the Hazelwood Cemetery at 417-891-1660. I believe they share offices or they are the same office. 3. Hello list, writing to ask if anyone is in Springfield who would check for a phone number for me, and to also ask who they recommend I call regarding a burial in the Springfield National Cemetery. The number I was given was apparently a number to the maintenance building. I inquired about a burial there, and they were helpful with the info they had there. Only a name and date of interrment. No birth, death, funeral home, nothing else. There is a possibility that this grave was a relocated one, and would like to obtain more information on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Judy

    3. I am searching the burial place and any information on John Ayres. John Ayres was listed in the 1880 census of Greene Co., in Robberson. He was 70+ years old and divorced...living alone. His second wife that he was divorced from was Martha (Creg) Ayres and living with her was Creg Ayers (her son from a previous marriage) and Thomas and Mary Ayres, John and Martha's children. Living next to her was families of Vickers...John Ayres and his first wife's children had married into the Vickers family. I have not found John Ayres after the 1880 census and with his elerly age assume he died in Greene Co. any help appreciated. Gary Ayres
