The Crane Broiler Festival is not in Springfield or Greene County. It is held in Crane which is in Stone Co. If you go to this site, it will tell you something about it. It says it has been going on for 51 years but my grandmother and grandfather met during one that was held in about 1912, so it's been around awhile. www.stonecountynews.com The barbeque is great! Goodmorning, Has anyone heard of the Loretto Academy in the city of Springfield? It existed back in 1891 because a family member, as a condition of his inheritance, was required to put Miss Nellie Kelly into the school for a period of two years and pay all her expenses and charges.
