Posted on: Greene Co. Mo Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mo/Greene/10916 Surname: Vincent, Vinson ------------------------- I must make opologies. First: I've been properly reprimended for indicating that the correct spelling of Greene County is without the "e" on the end. (It just happens that it is dropped in my referances.) Second: It appears that the connection between your Vinson ancestors and my Horine ancestors is not valid. I too have had difficulty finding verifiable info regarding the "Vinson" or "Vincent" line. I now believe these commonly interchanged spellings actually have very different roots. I can say with confidence that Polly Horine was born at Richwoods, Washington County, Missouri. Records indicate that she and A. W. Vincent married on 10 Oct 1834 in Washington County. She is believed to have married Daniel Murdick by 1836. Wayne
Pineville is located in McDonald County, the southern and western most county in Missouri. You might check with the McDonald County list or GenWeb site (if there is one). However, the likeliness of their courthouse records being online is very slim. It is not a very largely populated county. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Noyes" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2001 7:57 PM Subject: [MOGreene] Pineville, Mo Courthouse records > Could someone tell me if records from the old Pineville, Mo courthouse are online? My great grandparents were Alexander & Rebecca (maiden name unknow) Vinson. The were born in Taney County, Missouri. He was born October 23, 1835. Rebecca was born April 2, 1840. They had children: Thomas born 1866, David Joseph born 1869, Adeline born 1873, William (my grandfather) born 1876, clersa born 1878, and Ed born after 1878. Alexander & Rebecca was shown on the 1880 Census in Taney County, but haven't found where they went from there. I was hoping to find out if A.W. & Polly was my great great grandparents. If any of these names are familiar, I would like to hear from you. My Vinson line has been very difficult for me to find. Thank you very much for the information. Frank, Hi! I live in Springfield. I don't know the cemetery though. I've never been inside it, and it's huge! Do you have anymore information that you have on where the grave might be located ect.? I just today discovered that my great grandfather is buried in the Springfield National Cemetery. Is there anybody on this mailing list that actually lives in Springfield? (I live in New York State.) I would be willing to pay someone to go to the cemetery and photograph the gravestone. Please contact me for details. Frank Henderson
Yes, I can do the photos for you; no worries with fees..my pleasure! My father is buried there as well and I will be going there very soon. Do you have a lot number or any information to go on? That place is very large and there are many, many different sections. They do not disclose private info unless you are a family member. Never-the-less, I would be more than happy to help you out. You may contact me directly if you are interested. I havent looked at all of the records as I cant load some, but they show Virginia Military Warrant for the State of Ohio -- I understand that the warrants were for Rev.
