Squire and Polly Alexander were my great great great grandparents. While they had about 9 children, I descend thru one of their sons, William Carroll who married Francis Morrison. They had 7 children, and their oldest, John Henry, was my great grandpa. John was married to Melinda Virlene (Lennie) Farmer, and they had 8 children. Their son, Bruce Avery, was my grandpa. Bruce was married to Oder Patterson, and their son Hubert Alexander was my father. I have some information on Squire and Polly, but probably not as much as Adonna Morgan ([email protected]). She also descends from them, but thru their oldest son, James L. How do you fit in? Sincerely, Carole AlexanderHutchings

1) Viri do not travel thru the list (infected individuals' computers respond to posters directly) 2) The place for this discussion, if you want to do virus details, is [email protected], not MOGREENE. <g> -- Megan "Piglet" Zurawicz [email protected] [email protected]
SORRY TO SAY BUT IT DID GO TO THE LIST
The message went directly to you, not to the list so the attachment issue does not apply. ----- Original Message ----- From: "suzyq89" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2001 9:04 PM Subject: Re: [MOGreene] virus > I got the same ones too. I received attachments from Sam West as well. This is a good reminder....never open attachments from list. Pam
I got the same ones too. I do not open any attachments, and he kept sending that to me over and over. Thank you for warning us about the virus, because that helps! Suzanne
List members, I am sorry for the virus that my computer was sending to some of you. I got infected the evening of the 2nd with a virus called W32.Bad/[email protected] You can check on this at www.symanted.com or www.mcafee.com as well as other sites. I did not send these out on purpose. The virus reads your unread e-mail and uses the e-mail address of those senders to send the message back with a attachment which contains the virus. Some of the attach. have file names of Pics.ZIP.scr (this one got me as it was sent from a reliable person I never thought to question) README.TXT.pif New_Napster_Site.DOC.scr YOU_are_!.TXT.pif SETUP.pif, and others. Anyone who may have opened any attachments that was sent from my e-mail name please check your files for this virus. If I sned an attachement you will have been told what it is and will know the subject before you open it. Again, I am VERY SORRY for this to have happened, but I am not the only one, so watch for others. Sam West Sam West
Stephen, I got the same messages. They were directly from [email protected], so now my e-mail program is set to delete any messages from that address. That should solve the problem. I received two emails from this list from Sam West that appeared to be legitimate responses to my queries, but the responses simply repeated my original query and referred me to an attachment. Norton antivirus alerted me that the message attachments contained viruses. I don't know if Sam West is a real person, if Sam West really meant to respond, and I don't know if there was supposed to be an attachment or not but of course I didn't open it due to the virus warning. I thought that these email lists did not allow attachments to come through, so I am not sure if the messages were actually from Sam West or if Sam West even knows the messages came from him. Please be sure to run virus scans on your systems and update your systems at least weekly Thanks.

For the party that was checking on MacGruder Tannehill. I was looking at funeral home records when I tripped across a daughter of McGruder Tannehill. Mahitable Taneyhill m. Wm. B. Garroutte. They had a daughter Myatte Estella Garroutte who married L.L. Sifferman. Maybe there are some GARROUTTE or SIFFERMAN researchers that have info on McGruder and don't reliaze it. I would also say that MacGruder may have moved on over into Lawrence Co. I called an aunt of mine after I came across the Sifferman connection. She has a neighbor the does genealogy and is a Sifferman decendent. I ask my aunt to check but the neighbor is out of state for about a month. With a name like MacGruder Tanneyhill, I remeber to keep an eye open. <g> SAM
