    1. [MOGreene] Re: Hugh L. Baldwin (1883)
    2. I am searching for information on George W. Philhour, born 1833 in Claremont Co., Ohio, married Amanda Martin Goodwin in Richland Co., Illinois in 1857, and died in White County, Illinois in 1913. The Illinois State Marriage Records have the name spelled Philhower, but the family uses Philhour. George would be my great great grandfather. Looking for siblings and ancestors. Thought the Richland Co. might be a link.

    1. [MOGreene] look-up Obit for dead bus driver Springfield, MO 1955
    2. HELP! I have a great-grandfather who supposedly died of a heart attack pulling out of a bus station in Springfield, MO in the spring of 1955. I don't have an exact date, but I believe he may have been a driver for Greyhound bus lines. His name was William Edward "Big Bill" PERRY. I have only sketchy data, like his new wife's name was Irene and that they had a son named James who would have been in elementary school at the time, maybe 7 yrs. old at the time. Irene was from Wisconsin originally and rather than have Big Bill buried in his own homestate of Texas, she buried him someplace in WI. We have no idea where and can't find record of him in the SSDI. So, I could use some help from a researcher with a bit of talent who could locate an obituary or article in the newspaper about the incident. I live overseas and can't do the research from here. I thank you for taking the time to read this message and best of luck to you in your own endeavors! ---Laura Perry

    1. Re: [MOGreene] Yearbooks
    2. Carolyn Caplinger
    3. You might contact the Library Center in Springfield. There is a large genealogy area in the library. They have many of the area yearbooks. If they don't have it they may be able to tell you if the Republic branch has it. In fact, if you go to the Greene County web site and follow the link to the library (which I believe is there) you may even be able to get into the card catalog for the library and search for it yourself. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2001 11:57 PM Subject: [MOGreene] Yearbooks > Does anyone know if Republic High School published a yearbook in 1932? > > Jackie > > > ==== MOGREENE Mailing List ==== > Greene County Cluster Page: > http://resources.rootsweb.com/USA/MO/Greene/ > > ============================== > Search over 1 Billion names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp > > > ============================== > Search the MOGREENE-L archives: > http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=MOGREENE >

    2. I am seeking information on the parents and brothers and sisters of Willie Roosevelt DANIEL. He was born, according to his SSDI record, on 1 Nov 1900, and he died in Borger, Hutchinson Co., TX on 12 Dec 1966. His only daughter thinks that he may have been born in or around Springfield, Greene Co., MO Missouri Springfield. She believes that he had 13 brothers and sisters and that his father was a Baptist preacher. That is all that we know of his early life.

    1. [MOGreene] Re: Atkisson/Deason connection
    2. Hi Diana, You hit the bullseye on this one. Your story sounded familiar so I went thru my emails and found the connection. You will also want to contact Karen Nelson of Licking, MO <[email protected] as she is the person who sent me the following story and is part of the Deason family: "...Thomas Jefferson Deason and Elizabeth Nichols Deason had a son, James, my great grandfather.Lemuel Frank's wife died, he had two small sons, Herbert and Edward. He needed someone to care for the two boys, he took them to James and Eliza Deason's at Licking, Mo, to stay for awhile. When he went to get the boys the Deasons were so attached to Edward, who was only 3 mos old, they asked Frank to let Edward stay with them and he did. At that time, Mr and Mrs Deason had grown children, Edward was raised and loved by the Deasons as if he was their son. Edward continued living with the Deason family until he married. His first marriage did not last long. He moved to Bartlesville, OK as stated i! n Lemuel Frank Atkisson's obit." I will send you an invitation to my Atkisson website so you can see the family tree and other relatives on the member list. My tree should also be on rootsweb.com . I am not related to the Atkisson family but my adopted son, Connor Schofield Bateman, is on his birthmother's Schofield side. Let me know if you have any problems. Welcome to the extended family.
