Hi listers, As we all know, deadend info comes in tidbits at a time. We may research for months and months not finding anything. This had been the case of George S. DAY. My great-grandfather's sister Rachel WINTON of northern Greene County married a Rev. Samuel M. GODBEY about 1882. Rachel was Rev. GODBEY's second wife. Sam's first wife was Laura S. DAY (b. 1852 in New Orleans, LA and d. in 1880 in Morrisville, MO). Laura was the only child of George S. and Theresa DAY. I've spent about a year looking for this DAY family. I finally was able to locate an obit for Laura. In the obit it states that her father, George DAY is the Mayor for Springfield. I am hoping and wondering if anyone connects to this family of DAY's? If you connect or know of anyone who does, please contact me. I would really like to fill in the info on this lineage. There are quite a few questions I have unanswered. Thanks, Mike [email protected]
My greatgreat grandmother was Laura, d/o John and Rebecca Onstott. She was the second wife of William Massey, who married a Rountree, she had 2 children w/ William, filed for divorce in 1887, and married my greatgreat grandfather Clinton Griffith Murphy. >From what I can tell, it seems that the Onstott, Rountrees and Massey did a lot of intermarrying. I am looking for documentation of the divorce, and a marriage record for Laura and Clinton. And does anyone know what became of William's 7 children after his first wife Almarinda died?

We have some Greene County/Webster County Fords in our family files (most of our info on that family is from the 1800's). . . . Would you want to run some names, birth dates, and so forth by me and see whether we have a match? -Becky (Chandler) Aldridge
Hi Michael, No, I have no other info on Jessie except for her name appearing in the 1900 census as a niece of John Henry Duncan. Thank you for the info that you supplied...it will allow me to do further research. I am wondering if you have any additional information of Anna B. Duncan? Do you know who her parents and siblings were? I am trying to connect her to my grandfather John Henry and my great grandmother Mattie. >From the dates you supplied, I am guessing that Jessie was living in John Henry's household in 1900 as her mother had recently died. Do you know if she went back to her father after his second marriage? Do you have any info on William E. Redfearn? Parents and siblings and the like? Thanks again for your message the info contained therein. If I find any additional info on Jessie and her offspring, I will let you know. Regards, Rebecca Duncan

Hello, Am interested in HARTIN and FLEMING ancestors who moved to Greene Co. in 1860's, from Phillips Co., AR, and with earlier roots in Tennessee. James Hartin Fleming married Mary Jane BELL in 1862 in Greene Co., he served in the Civil War, not sure of the unit. Mary Jane Bell was born in Tennessee and family moved to Missouri when she was quite young. Anyone researching any of these lines? Best regards, Grace Baxter Constantine [email protected]
