I checked for an obituary at the library and could not find one. Death certificates for 1930s on are available through the state. You need to contact the state vital records office. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 17, 2001 10:01 AM Subject: [MOGreene] Jess Lee Green County, 1951/52 > Is there some kind person that could look up a death certificate for a > Jess/Jesse > Lee. I need help!!! Does anyone know the names and/or locations of any nursing homes or skilled care facilities in Springfield in the 1940's, particularly, 1948? I have an address of a 441 N. Nettleton which is where my grandfather died. And the lady who gave the information for his funeral record is no relation. The funeral home said that he could have possibly been in a nursing home of some kind and she could have been an employee. Can anyone help me? Thanks! Kathi C. [email protected]

One, Hiram Davis, listed in Book 17, page, 75 as "old inmate, and on 5 Dec 1903 "to Confederate Home". I was unable to read the rest of the entry. How can I find records on this Confederate Home? The next person, listed as Jane Davis, in book 19, page 24 as being admitted 11 Jan 1910, and dismissed(?) on 13 Mar 1910. What is the address for death records in Greene County, MO? I have Carters and Collins both in my line. :( I don't know much about them The Carter was in Joplin, MO Sally Sarah collins was in KY in 1799. That is when she married a Key. But, I don't know who her parents were. If anyone sees a Collins married to a Key in their line, please remember me:) Juanita My Caroline Carter was married to a Jones and it should have been in Greene County before it was Greene county. Probably married about 1855.

McKinney. My gmother (Nannie B Thompson Davis) obituary in 1961 lists 2 brothers - Lambert Thompson, Cincinnati; Charles Thompson, Crab Orchard and 1 sister - Mary Ellen McKinney, Fair Grove, MO. I have been unable to trace the Thompson genealogy back past this. In the 1880 Rockcastle County, KY Census the following is listed: Thompson, Mrs Terry, w,f,35, widow; Mary E, w,f,8; Nancy B, w,f,2. In the same census on another page is listed a Prewitt, Sallie as head of a boarding house or poor house and among other people are list Lambert and Charles Thompson both age 4. They are listed as paupers. I think these are all my Thompsons but not sure. Any info on Mary Ellen Thompson McKinney is appreciated.
