I am looking for a Raymond Spencer that was possibly from Greene County or Holt County. He would be about 80 now if he is still alive. He was in WWII and station at Cheddars near Somerset, England April and May of 1944. He was in the battle of D Day landing in France. He returned to England June of 1945 where he met his six month old daughter and friend Slyvia. He returned to MO. Slyvia is now deceased and their daughter would like to find her American family. I got involved because we have a Raymond Spencer in our family. My great uncle is now deceased but he did not serve in the US Army so he is not the Raymond I am looking for. My Uncle asked me to help since I have a computer. I feel so strongly that people should know their roots I have called all the Spencers I could get ahold of in the area. I could not find one that had a Raymond in WWII There is an listing in the SS index of a Raymond Spencer that died in Indepndence, MO area in 1976. I have made several posts to try and find a copy of that Orbit in hopes of learning if he were in WWII or if he had any descendents. I have not had any replies. That is why I am posting to the genealogy list to see if any one has the "know how" to help. I dont have the money to write to each person listed on SS list to see if they were in WWII. I dont have SS number to write to the military. It was thought that he was from Holt CO Springfield, MO but that could not be the case we know. Also this family may not know they have an English daughter. I can only say I had a brother in law that never had children after he married. When his mother's Orbit was published his daughter and grand children got in touch with him. You have no idea how happy he and his wife were to finally have children and grand children. I just hope I could bring a bit of joy to this girl in England and her children and her American family. She has waited until her mother died to start her search. I just hope it is not to late. If you have any knowledge of who and how I might find this Spencer family please contact me. I have a picture of him and will send it if anyone thinks that might help. Sincerely, Patricia Mata pjmm@tcac.net 870-892-1546

Looking for a date on a marriage between George L. Penter b March 4, 1845 Illinois to Mary Ann Woodsworth b March 1849 in Missouri. Thanks, Susan
Since you are searching the Social Security Death Index, you assume they died after the 1960s. If that is the case, you might try requesting death certificates for both of them. They are all stored at the state vital records department after about the 1910s. It helps to have the date and place of death but sometimes they can find it without that information if you can provide enough other details such as spouses name, possible place of death, parent's names, etc. This helps to match what their records show so they are sure they have the right person. You might want to search for Missouri Vital Records online so you can find out their specific requirements and costs. --- apotutu <apotutu@earthlink.net> wrote: > Am unable to locate Franklin and laura Fine and > their family in Springfield on any SSDI or Census I > have searched. Still hoping to find information on Nancy Eldora Maloy (Malloy), m. Howard Williams - both born Tennessee 1814 and 1812 respectively. First child born in Springfield, Greene County, in 1836. Believe Nancy Eldora's father was Hugh. The name Alverson appears as a middle name of one of their sons so I'm assuming there's a family connection. Any help appreciated. Lucille Adkins
