Hello list, I have been looking for the grave or confirmation of the death of my ancestor William Harrison Barnes who died in Gentry County Nov 5, 1883. I've learned that Miller Township didn't have a newspaper in 1883, the county courthouse burned down in 1884, and no written records show where William was buried. I'll am going to a wedding in Iowa in early June and plan on visiting Gentry County, MO to satisfy myself that everything I could possibly do to confirm William's death has been done. Where is the county courthouse located and what are it's hours? How many cemeteries are in the area of Miller Township and are they cataloged?
