    3. August 19 Monday 1889 Went to Albany again to attend the Institute. Returned on Friday evening. The weather was cool during the Institute. August 27 1889 Tuesday Mrs. Walters and I took the excursion train for McFall where we attended the annual picnic. The day was warm and very dusty. A full car load went from Stanberry. Returned in the evening. Sept. 7 Saturday 1889 Took the evening freight for McFall where I stopped with Dr. Hunt. Sept. 9 1889 Monday Commenced my twentieth term of school with an attendance of 24 in my room. Secured boarding at Mr. F. M. Gist's. Oct 4, 1889 Friday Took the evening local for Stanberry where I remained with my family over Saturday and Sunday. Returned on Sunday evening. Oct 13, 1889 Sunday Went with the Gist boys in their wagon to Pattonsburg. Object: to have a ride and get a few paw-paws. Found a few nuts. Nov. 14, 1889 Thursday Mrs. Walters and Dell came down and made me a visit. They remained until the following Monday evening. Dec. 21, Saturday 1889 Took the evening local for Stanberry where I spent Christmas with my family. Took a hunt with George on Monday and spent Tuesday and Wednesday about town. Returned Wednesday evening. Helped Bud Lilly invoice on Thursday and on Friday. ++++++++++++
