    3. March 23 1889 Saturday Went to Stanberry in a wagon to bring home my family. Had a very pleasant day for the trip. Returned on the following Tuesday. April 19, 1889 Friday Made a trip by rail to Trenton for the purpose of making inquiries concerning one known as J. D. DuVall. Found him to be a fraud. Said DuVall had decamped suddenly leaving several unpaid accounts. April 29, 1889 Monday Rode to Maysville in the morning with the section men on the handcar. Took the morning express for St. Joseph, where I changed cars for Bolckow. Made inquires concerning the Bolckow school for the coming year. Returned home in the evening. May 30, 1889 Thursday Took my family to Maysville where we attended Decoration ceremonies. Made the trip by rail. July 4, 1889 Thursday Took my family to St. Joseph, going on an excursion train. Spent the greater part of the day at Lake Contrary. My family returned in the evening while I remained to transact some business the next day. Spent the night at Charlie Smith's. August 10, 1889 Saturday Left Amity with my family on the morning passenger, going east. Changed cars at Gallatin Crossing for Stanberry, arriving about midnight. August 12, 1889 Monday Went to Albany by rail and spent the week attending the Institute. Returned to Stanberry on Friday evening. ++++++++++++++
