>From The Luther Register, Friday, August 30, 1901: "F. B. Earl of near Garden has gone to Gentry County, Mo., on a visit of three or four months to his old home and friends." Luther is in the northeast corner of Oklahoma County, while Garden was just over the line in the southwest corner of Logan County. A number of Gentry Co. families came to this area, where the Unassigned Lands [opened in 1889], the Iowa lands [opened in 1891] and the Kickapoo Lands [opened in 1895] converged. I found Franklin B. EARL on the 1900 census in Iowa Township, Logan Co., near families whose children attended the Garden school. He was single, born Oct. 1859 in MO. His father was born in NY, his mother in MO. He owned his farm, with a mortgage, but I didn't find him on the index to land records so conclude that he probably bought his farm from the homesteader. I have not managed to link him with any of the other families who came to this area from Gentry Co. Does anyone recognize him? Sharon McAllister
