    1. [mogentry] William LORANCE
    2. I am looking for William Houston LORANCE, married to Mary M. HILL (father Ira Hill) on August 17, 1853 in Gentryville.   Mary was previously married to Joseph Marshall Owen, who died in Gentry County on August 11, 1851.  She had a son by that marriage, Charles Lafayette Owen, b.1851.  I would love to find a marriage certificate, or any other leads to William and/or Mary's birth.   They were both born in Tennessee but met in Gentryville.   They had five children born in Gentryville.   They were: John H. Lorance, b. Sept. 8, 1856, Benjamin Franklin Lorance, b. Dec. 8, 1858, Thomas A. Lorance, b. Dec. 8, 1860, Oliver P. Lorance, b. Jul. 2, 1863, and Edmund B. Lorance, b. Apr. 4, 1865.   They moved to Brownville, NE in 1865 or 1866.      Are there any early records that I might be able to find them in?   I am aware that official registration started much later. Dawn-Moree Dugan Welcome, Maryland

    2. FMartin
    3. I don't know if Tom Spoonamore's e-mail address is the same from last year, so I'm sending this to the list in case he is still on one of these mailing lists. -----Original Message----- From: FMartin [mailto:fmartin5@mindspring.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2001 3:31 PM To: tom spoonamore Subject: Milligan-Spoonamore Hi Tom, We corresponded last year, and as I've furthered my research I've referred to the information you sent me. I do have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with. The first question is concerning Green Monroe Spoonemore b. 1843 (son of Greenberry). When I found him in the 1870 Census in Green,Worth,MO he was listed as George (is this what he went by?) Then in your information it states that Green Monroe Spoonemore married Nancy Elizabeth McKean in May 17, 1868 in Gentry,MO. So since I happen to have the Worth County marriage records covering that year I looked it up, and this is what I found: George Spoonemore married to Nancy Jane Ridenour 20 June 1861. So I'm wondering if this is just a strange coincidence of another George and Nancy? (In the 1870 Census record George is married to a Nancy) Anyway I was hoping you might be able to "set me straight" on the matter! Then one more question... Do you know if Francis Marion Spoonmore b.1881 to Green Monroe Spoonemore is a male or female? (I've assumed the sex for the name Francis before, and have been wrong. So I guess I'm a bit "gun shy" of it now!) Anyway I would appriciate any help you could give me! Thanks, Felicia
