I wasn't actually looking for Missouri Jane, but thanks for the info. Apparently she was a sister to Minerva Stites who married Jobe Mahanay. I didn't know the connection. Now I know why Minerva was visiting the Angell family at the time she died. Lawrence and Missouri made out an affidavit as to when and where Minerva died, in order to help her minor children get a military pension from their father's civil war service. Too bad it was all for naught. They were rejected anyway. I have just received copies of the pension file. Please contact me KRai3@aol.com.
