Is your local writer gon up Salt river, never to return? please tell what is the matter. -Permit me to send you a few items if you think worth while bothering with them and let the public notice it. -The farmer have their wheat sowed, Early wheat looks very promising, but the latest sowing is not out of the ground yet and there is no telling what will become of it. -On the 26th Wm. Kurrelmeyer was buring brush on Feeselmanns farm and while he was eating his dinner some ricks(?) of corn caught fire and about ten bushels of corn with the fodder were burned. -While Casper Smith was sawing lumber in his sawmill, one of his fine hogs seemed to have taken a notion to examine the engine but was caught in the fly wheel and was flung in front of the fireman with a broken neck of course, Mr Smith lost his hog, however he had fine piece of fresh meat. -A. Ruffner moved on to his farm of Douglas prairie. We regret ot loose a good neighbor and Simon Boeger has lost an excellent teamster. -Hermann Brueggemann has contracted to do the carting for Mr. Boeger form Hermann to Bay; he has an excellent team and wagon and we hope that things will go on nicely. -Henry Earfmann wil have three different threshing machines to thresh the crop which was grown on his farm this year. Andrea Ruffner with the "Masilion" and Renment and Sperning with the "Vibrator" will thresh parts and Heilbert & Blenne with the "Russell" will thresh the balance and thus Mr. Earfmann will certainly find out which is the best machine. -On the 8th Nov. Wm. Openhouse had the blessing of adding two more boys to his family record - mother and children are doing fine. -Widow Ruprrcht has moved with her son-in-law. Wm. Widemann (?). She left her lease in possession of Sm. Pysher, who is the legal owner of the land. -On the 18th Nov. , Second Creek was overflowing, washing away fences and corn fodder and in fact making a perfect clean sweep. The branch near Stoner store washed down the northeast corner of his garden fence. Mr. Stoner had to pull down a part of our Representatives fence which the rain was pouring down at risk the loss of his whole garden and Dr. Gearly was setting in the store reading the news, but never offered his assistance. -On the 16th Nov. Dr. Friday moved to Drake with his family, he intends to put up his winter quarter here and we hope that we will do the best he can in giving out medicine for the benefit of man. -So here I will close for this time.
