The child was about one month old. -Mrssrs. Rudolph Poser, Henry Meyer and W.W. Bumpass were out last week, assessing damages on the new County road running throught Boulware and Third Creek Townships. -Mrs. Meyer, wife of Squire Meyer was very sick but is now recovering, also Emma Boeger, daughter of Mr. Simon Boeger is just getting over a spell of sickness. Dr. Stoffregen is the attnending physician. - Wheat thrashing is going on at present but the yield is not very good and may be considered a half a crop in the bottoms. -On Saturday last two law-suits were brought before Squire Brueggemann's court in Boulware Township. -One of the complaints was a assault and battery case and the defendant is the other case had been charged with having committed rape. -Squire Meyer was summoned as Assisting Justice to Squire Brueggemann and Mrssr. Hoffmann and Hirzel were the Attorney for the respectivo parties. -Mrs. Schauff, defendant in the assualt and battery case, plead quilty and was fined one Dollar an the costs. -Concerning the rape case where-in the State of Missouri is plaintiff and Wm. Schauff of Boulware Township defendant, a preliminary examination was had and after the evidence had been heard and the case argued by the Attorneys, the defendant was bound over to await the action of the Grand jury at our next Circuit Court. -The bond of the defendant was affixed ast six hundred Dollars. Folk Does anyone know how I can access a newspaper film from the "Hermanner Volkblatt (weekly) German Language Jan 4, 1844-Apr. 18, 1928? The Missouri Newspapers on Microfilm at the State Historical Society of Missouri catalog lists it as being available through InterLibrary Loan. Dear Researcher, The State Historical Society of Missouri films can be borrow thru interlibrary loans. Here are a couple of rules: loan only to colleges and public libraries. A max of two reels to be borrow by library. Current charges to borrow one or two reels is $7.00 per loan. Request must be made on a standard ALA approved ILL form. The State Historical Society has Hermanner Volkblatt (weekly) German Language for the period of: from 1860 - 1928 The Advertiser-Courier ( the English version) the have for the period of : March 02, 1877 - present PS ...... it does takes sometimes up to 6 weeks to get the film....
