Alsace; wife Paulina FRITZ age 37, b Wurtemburg; Frank JOST son age 11 months, b MO ; Barbara JOST dau b MO. I think Lorenz is part of the following family: This Fritz family arrived in New York Harbor on July 26, 1843 aboard the ship ARGO out of Le Harve. It was a 967 15/95 ton vessel mastered by Caleb Anthony, Jr. Michael FRITZ age 38 (b. 1805) Franjisca age 40 (b 1803) Johan age 16 (b 1827) Lorenz age 8 (b 1835) ****** Maria age 7 (b 1836) Catherina age 3 (b 1840) Maria CASPAR age 18 (b 1825) Is she a relative? friend? Agnes age 18 (b 1825) Margaretha age 22 (b 1821) ******** My gg grandmother. ALL OF FRANCE I assume Alsace--They spoke German or perhaps Alsatian. This is the order in which they appear on the ship's manifest list. I don't know how Maria Caspar fits into the picture. The family arrived in the Buffalo,NY area where Margaretha married Jacob ROSE (ROOS) in 1844 who was originally from Riedseltz, Alsace. Family story says the rest of the FRITZ family "went west after the lakes-the Great Lakes- thawed." Could anyone help by looking in the MO census for 1870, 1860, or/and 1850 for Lorenz or his parents and siblings. Please, someone take pitty on me. I have been looking for this lost family for 25 years. Margaretha Fritz ROOS is my GGgrandmother. I would love to find the family and eventually their town of origin.
