Ken; Not sure if I've contacted you in the past, but I have a Herman Bock b. GEB 12 May 1859, d. GEST 6 Aug. 1890 (not sure what the GEB & GEST is but listed on his headstone). mar' Emilie Buerger b. 20 Sept. 1859 in Prussia, d. 30 Oct. 1883, in Gasconade Co, MO. She is listed in Cem' Bk of Gasconade Co, Herman Public Library Annex, in Burger fam' Cem', in Morrison area & listed as nee Bock, so almost 100% sure she was mar' to Herman. He however, is in Berger Fam' Cem' Saline Co, MO along w/ Frederick Fritz Berger & Wife Ellen Bromley Berger who are my hus' maternal gr'parents. There are only 4-5 graves, sitting in the mid of a cornfield. Have yet to locate the Burger Fam' Cem' in Morrison, Gasconade Co, evidently there are a large # of Cem's scattered thruout the area, but we intend to keep looking. Morrison is/was Richland twp. 1870-80 & the Fam' surname was Buerger on 1870 Census (same source). If you've learned any further info on Carl Bock, re par's/sib's/decendents, I'd very much appreciate a reply. All the Best, Jeannine Burks

I'd like to hear from anyone researching the following families from Richland Township from about 1850 through 1920 +/-. St Paul's in Hermann is now St Paul's UCC - very active. They have all the old records from the church - in German. They can help you locate the records from the old churches. In some cases, there are lay ministers who serve the dwindling congregations. We found them most helpful! Jenny
Can anyone answer Garlyn's question? if so respond direct to blackbutteLZ@aol.com Thanks -----Original Message----- From: BlackButteLZ@aol.com [mailto:BlackButteLZ@aol.com] Sent: Monday, August 27, 2001 1:43 AM To: kstrass@fidnet.com Subject: Research on Bay, MO I am researching Buchholz and Ahring family lines in Bay, MO. I want to thank you for your work on the Gasconade Co. website. At last I was able to learn that there was a Bay Post Office in the 1860s but it is no longer there. Is there anything left of the town of Bay itself, and do you happen to know if St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church is still standing .. or if not, where the church records might be located now? I am especially interested to know the status of the cemetery as I think I may have great great great grandparents buried there. I will appreciate any information you can provide. Thank you very much. Garlyn Warren (p.s. the "lz" in our email stands for "landing zone". My husband is an avid paraglider.)
