    2. >That info is on the web page mentioned in a previous email from a list member. I don't have that info with me right now as I am on a remote computer but I am thinking they said it was $53.50 and then if you wanted the book mailed to you, it would be an additional $6.00 just for postage. That is when I questioned how long it would be before mailed and the man said at least a year. Susan Susan, did they mention how much the book would be? > Jeannine Burks > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Susan Martin" <susan1@socket.net> > To: <MOGASCON-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, October 12, 2002 6:08 AM > Subject: Re: [MOGASCON] GASCONADE COUNTY HISTORY BOOK.. > > > > I called the Archival Center about a month before the extended > > deadline as I had questions about the book. 2. Rather than wasting time cloggin up e-mail boxes on questions about the publication. Why don't those with questions go to the website and ask those who are publishing the book the questions. Or send your question to to the person you are asking privately rather than the list. I've received over 20 messages on this subject. Thanks Scott

    3. I called the Archival Center about a month before the extended deadline as I had questions about the book. I was told it would be a minimum of a year before the books came out as it was a large undertaking for them with much information to organize. Susan

The last of the biographies/submissions were to be received by the Historical Society no later than Sept. 30th. It takes a lot of time to prepare the books the books for publishing, so prepare for a wait... I would say you are looking at early 2003 or perhaps even into Spring.. Does anyone know the projected date? Ellie

    3. The Gasconade County Archive and Research Center 315 Schiller Street Hermann, MO 65041 573-486-4028 As I understand it . . . The money you paid for the book was for a *pre-order* of the book as the plan is to only print as many books as there are *pre-orders* for. The original deadline to order/pre-order the book AND submit family histories to be included in the book was July 31. That was then extended to September 30 - only two weeks ago. Now the family histories have to be organized, type-set, proof-read, etc. Then the book has to be printed and set to the Archive Center for further distribution. I haven't heard the estimated date of printing/distribution, but maybe a call to the Archive Center would yield that information. I don't believe anybody from the Archive Center appears to be on this list to help us. Debbie --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 1. [MOGASCON] Henry Peters - Bay, MO
    2. Susan Martin
    3. Does anyone know if Henry Peters of Bay, MO had a brother? He owned the Little General Store at Bay, approx. 75-100 years ago. It might be more than this, but not less. I found a Henry Peters in the 1850 Gasconade Co, Hermann township census from Ancestry.com but no listing as his age or other family members. Only 2 Peters in the whole Gasconade Co in 1850 and they are in different townships. Thank you in advance for your help Susan Martin

I wasn't actually looking for Missouri Jane, but thanks for the info. Apparently she was a sister to Minerva Stites who married Jobe Mahanay. I didn't know the connection. Now I know why Minerva was visiting the Angell family at the time she died. Lawrence and Missouri made out an affidavit as to when and where Minerva died, in order to help her minor children get a military pension from their father's civil war service. Too bad it was all for naught. They were rejected anyway. I have just received copies of the pension file. Please contact me KRai3@aol.com. It also contains some information about David J Stites and Susan G Stites.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/nMB.2ACI/107.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for the quick response to my query. I guess the query itself wasn't worded just right. The people who gave the deposition were named Angell, but the person I was actually searching for was Minerva STITES MAHANAY. She's the one who was supposed to be buried in the Carter Grave yard. I guess I'll have to try a map search for a cemetery in that general area. Thanks again for your help.
