Dear Lois, Can you give me a little more to go on? I especially need a time frame. At my church we show a Gerhard H. Kruel b. 1814 who died 1-31-1876 of "nerves" but that seems like too long ago. Herman Hemann b. 1801 died 7-23-1881 of "old age." This same family had earlier spelled their name "Hehmann." Anna Marie (Wolke) Heman is buried in our New (1895) Cemetery. She was born 3-25-1853 and d. 1-2-1900. On 3-23-1870 Heinrich Wilhelm Edward Kruel was born to Gerhard Heinrich Kruel and Marie Wil. (Hemans). He was Baptized on 8-7-1870. These sure sound like your folks! Send me a little more information and I'll do what I can for you. I'm trying to build a web page for our church (St. John's Mantels United Church of Christ) but it's still very incomplete. It will have all of our birth, Baptism, marriage, and death records when I get it done. It was originally known as The German Evangelical Protestant Church of St. John's and later as the St. John's Evangelical & Reformed Church. It is a little country church but is one of the oldest in the county. It was featured recently in Country Extra magazine. Even though the records are incomplete there are still some pictures there which you might enjoy since this is probably a place of your ancestors.
