Dear Subscribers, Since its inception, this list has been administered by Larry Flesher, who is now the State Coordinator for Rootsweb and has plenty to keep him busy. I recently returned to Missouri to stay after moving EIGHT times in two years and eight months -- all job related moves. As of yesterday, I have taken over the MOFRANKL-L list in addition to my duties as Franklin County Coordinator for the Missouri GenWeb Project (Rootsweb site) so you will be hearing from me from time to time. I want to thank Ann Wideman for sharing her readings of the Ekey and Cheatham cemeteries with list subscribers. The cemetery on Prairie Dell Road would be the old Cheatham Cemetery, which is also known as the Indian Prairie Cemetery. Also, I would like to suggest that Ann post her cemetery readings at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mo/franklin/bios.htm> where a number of other cemetery transcriptions are posted. People in search of additional cemetery information in Franklin County are also encouraged to contact the Four Rivers Genealogy Society as they offer cemetery books for sale by township. Many people who subscribe to lists such as this are older, sometimes physically handicapped, dealing with debilitating and crippling diseases, and often struggling to learn to use the internet in order to work on their genealogy projects. These people have much to contribute and we need to be patient as they learn their new skills and to appreciate what they have to share. We didn't learn it all in one day and it is easy to forget the mistakes we made. However, the list also should not be a place to vent anger. If someone has offended you, it would be more appropriate to write directly to that person and not involve everyone in it. As Dorris Keeven informed us recently, the Washington Historical Museum is planning to be open additional hours beginning in May and the Four Rivers Genealogical Society (the organization that operates the Ralph Gregory Library in the museum) is hoping to do so as well, but volunteers are needed for this to be a success. If you can help, please contact the society and offer your services. The Ralph Gregory Library is a real treasure-trove of genealogical information and this is a great opportunity to make it available to more researchers. Thank you.
