I am trying to find the answer to a family story. It was suggested that my GG grandfather John Kiser born 1874 in New Haven, MO was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was known to live in the Franklin County area all of his life. The last record I have on him was that as of the 1900 Census he was living in the Portage des Sioux area. Due to other facts I know, I am guessing he was sentenced around 1909/1910 time frame. Any suggestions on where I could find this information.
