Dear Alan, I thought the surnames in your post rang a bell so I checked through the records at our church and came up with some of the same names if not the same individuals. I'm sending them in case they may be of some use to you. These are from the Birth and Baptism Records of St. John's Mantels United Church of Christ. This church was originally known as the "German Evangelical Protestant Church of St. John's Township." It was founded in 1843 and is on what used to be the main highway between Union and Washington. Jan. 18, 1860 Johann Victor Weber born. The son of Carl Weber and Marie (Daetwiler). His Baptism on 10-2-1860 was witnessed by Johann Daetwiler (my note: This witness was probably not the father.) Feb. 2, 1860 Katharine Louise Kaiser born. The daughter of Adolph Kaiser and Louise (Daetweiler). Her Baptism was on 10-2-1860 and it was witnessed by Carl and Marie Weber listed just above. I think that this Carl and Marie are probably the same folks as your Charles and Marie - What do you think? Charles would have been a very unusual name for a German man or boy but these folks often "Americanized" their names as they tried to fit in. For instance, Heinrich became Henry or Johann became John as time went by. Another Weber in the records was Dr. August Weber who died June 10, 1856 of colitis. He was listed as 30 years, 2 months, and 12 days old at the time. On July 25, 1882 another August Weber died. This young man had Tuberculosis and was only 26 years and 11 months at the time of his death. Both of these men are buried in what is called the "Old Cemetery" which is right next to the church. I hope some of this information can help you. Good luck in your research.
