    3. Today, I attended an auction at which I purchased an Atlas from 1942-43. In this Atlas was a section of a newspaper, St. Louis Star-Times Dec 30, 1943. In this paper are listed either an obit or death notice for the following people. Anyone wishing a transcription of these can email me privately. Also, written into the front of the Atlas is the given names and birth dates of a family. Since this was an auction for Fred and Alice Kregh of Bourbon, MO, I am assuming this is their family. Anyone that wants a transcription of this may also email me privately. There are other things in the book too. These are the names for the obits and death notices. 3. Just a quick word. Prior to 1900, Goodspeed Publishing Company put out many books on Missouri counties. Right now I am editing the Archives table for Pulaski County. The point I am trying to make is, many of those I am seeing are people we are looking for in all the wrong places. You can see the table of contents, or use the search engine for the archives to search your ancestor. I will not be duplicating these in other counties since they TRAVELED A LOT. -- Joe L. 1. [MOFRANKL-L] Final Settlement and Inventory Records... Cooper County
    2. Traci Wilson-Kleekamp
    3. Well listers... Due to the prodding of several folks from a variety of lists... I will do lookups on the final settlement and inventory records for a flat rate of $25. If you want me to copy and return the pages to you, please send a self-addressed stamped legal sized envelope to: Traci Wilson-Kleekamp 4527 E. De Ora Way Long Beach, CA 90815 I have been collecting a number of items on slaveowning families Morgan and Cooper in particular so if I find other things that belong to your line... I'll be sure to let you know. I presently have the entire index for one roll of final settlement and inventories copied... so if I get several requests over the weekend, I should be able to turn them around fairly quickly. Just so you know... and I hope others will do the same... here are some items I have to do lookups... If you are mailing a request... I am happy to check these documents for you. Please list your names and dates specifically. If there is guess work... I won't be able to assist you... it takes too much time to guess. So please give as much information as possible. In order for me to continue understand and look for slaves in the families of Central MO... lookups are an excellent a way for me to learn the family trees and connections. These are some of the resources I have. Due to copyright laws, I can not copy these pages... but I can do look ups and let you know what I find. Again, I encourage you all to share the resources you purchase. I benefited from a good number of very kind people on the Missouri lists. Morgan Co. MO Adm's and Probate 1834-1843 Wills 1835-1870 Cooper County marriage records, 1819-1850 and Wills 1820-1870 Wills and Administrations of Boone Co -- 1821-1870 . Just a reminder... I am searching for CHISM, TUTT, HOWARD, WILSON, MCCLANAHAN, ROSS, CHILTON, ROGERS, BLACKWELL, SMILEY, INGRAM, HUTCHINSON, INGLISH... if you come across any slave related documents, please let me know. Thanks to Anne Silar... I now have a probate record for Jacob Chism. He bequeated by gggreat grandmother Mary Ann Howard -- to his daughter Elizabeth Chism --wife of Lot Howard. Much to my chagrin...it appears that Mary Ann's mother and other slaves were to be sold [according to the will and probate] and their worth divided among several family members. Now I need to find a auction notice for slaves sold at the courthouse for the estate of Jacob Chism. I'm wondering who bought the slaves from his estate... family members or other local folks. Confusing? Yup it is... thanks again Anne and Carolyn!!
