The Dunklin Co Historical Society published a Dunklin Co MO History book back in the 1950's or 1960's. It is true that some of the older publications, prior to about 1923, may be able to be reprinted, however, there are some companies which have found these publications and have obtained the copyright to them for their own business purposes. When a company decides to publish a book they will do a research prior to making a final decision. They will not publish in any form a book that will only sell a few copies and thus take a loss on the project. Most companies have to be guaranteed that a minimal amount of copies will be purchased to break even and then can start profitting from the additional sales.
