Surnames: Barton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lMB.2ACI/2193.3.1 Message Board Post: I don't know why they wouldn't be in the census, but I know there was Barton's in Dunklin County in 1920 and I can find out if they were there before that. My grandfather Willie Floyd Barton was born in Dunklin County in July of 1921. His father was William Lloyd Barton (known as Joe) and his mother was Verie Flowers. I have been told that William's father was named Washington Barton, but I've never really found any documentation on it. His mother was Nancy Garner. She remarried when Washington either died or disappeared. As for the Barton your looking for, I haven't heard the name. But I know Bartons were in Dunklin County. My grandmother said they were from Tennesse or Kentucky. I hope this helps in some way. Tracy Cook
