Below is the obit of Kenny Thurston. Theresa theresagriffiths@iwon.com * Obit: Kenny Thurston Kenny Thurston Kenny Thurston, son of the late Cletus Eugene Red Thurston and Virginia Treas Thurston, was born on Jan. 28, 1948, at Poplar Bluff and died in his residence at Bernie on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at the age of 58. Mr. Thurston was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bernie, a former processing engineer with Arvin Meritor in Dexter, a former employee of Specialty Engineering in Dexter, and a former employee of Autry Morlan Chevrolet, Cadillac, Nissan. A veteran of the United States navy, a 32 Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was united in marriage to Judy Botsch on July 8, 1972, at Malden. Mrs. Thurston survives of the home in Bernie. Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Lucy Thurston of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Douglas Thurston; and one step-sister, Sue Edmonds of St. Louis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Melba Thurston. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Dr. Thomas Bass and Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hope Lodge, 4215 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, Mo. 63106.
