She was born in 1889 prob. in Dunklin Co., but other records state Ark. However, I did find her in the 1900 census with her sister and living with her uncle. I found her in Dunklin Co. in Independance twp with William Shultz and family. She is listed as a Niece to him. I found that her parents were Charles Brannum and his wife Mary Schultz. William was Mary's brother.. I also found Charles and mary in the 1880 census of of Clay twp of Dunklin twp, just prior to Bernetti's birth in 1889. It appears that since Bernitte was living with her uncle in 1900, that both Charles and Mary had died prior to 1900. Charles may have also gone by another given name earlier in life... but not sure. Family story my client has is that her early Brannum family came from New Madrid Co. Mo when the Earth quake hit and settled in Dunklin co. Since Charle's father would have been the age of the sons of Michael Brannum that did come from New Madrid, it seems likely that Charles is the son of one of the sons of Michael Brannum of 1777 of S.C. Do you have any info that would fit for Charles father? Charles was born about 1856 according to the census, so his father was born in the early to middle 1830's...this would seem to fit Michael's sons and the family story of the Earthquake also fits... Any suggestions? Thanks. Lance
