Named in honor of Daniel Dunklin, Governor of the State from 1832 to 1836, surveyor-general of the United States, etc. Kennett, the county seat, was named for Hon. Luther M. Kennett. NOTE: This book was originally published in 1888. My reprint is from 1970. Information given here was from the original time period so county seats may have changed.
