Highlands, CA at the age of 84. Beloved mother/grandmother/great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle. Hazel was born to Alfred Thomas Dye and Bertha Mae Allison Dye. She grew up in Missouri where she later was a beautician for 25 years. She moved to California in 1963. She is a member of the Hillsdale Boulevard Baptist Church. She was preceeded in death by three husbands, Ted Raines, Odis Greer and John Thrasher; son, James Greer; daughter, Irene James; grandson, Dennis James; and son-in-law, Ted Shaw, Jr. She is survived by her children, Pauline Simpson (Buford) of Kennett, MO; Ted Raines (Kathy) of Roseville, Jack Greer of N. Highlands, Karen Shaw of Pt. Orchard, WA, Rebecca Dittrich (Andrew) of Elk Grove, Sandra Cox of N. Highlands; and brother, Raymond Dye (Hazel) of Flint, MI. Hazel's loving heart and generous deeds will be missed by her 38 gra! ndchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family and friends. Friends are welcome for visitation on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 2:00pm at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane. A reception will follow at Hazel's home.
