Does anyone know if the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell as allowed any one or any society to go thru their records to make a book, etc. I know they must have wonderful information in them. Margaret
Margaret I had several months ago that someone asked for some records which only dated back into the 1940's and was told that those records didn't exist. I personally know that when Christine Beall owned the business that the records went back to at least 1910 because I have a copy of the book page for my husband's gr-grandfather's funeral arrangements. I wrote my husband's uncle and asked him about the "so-called destruction" of the records and asked that if they did not want them to at least donate them to the local library for genealogical purposes. I never got a response back and on a recent trip down there forgot to ask. I will say this that in some cases the genealogical data is the same which can be found on the death certificate. What was more amazing was the cost of the various items for the funeral details. I'm hoping that whoever said the records were not available was someone who did not know what they were talking about or was at the owner's Malden location which only dates back to the 1940's and just assumed that all the locations had the same time period.
