I am new at this and searching with some relatives that are hard to find. My mother's family is from Hornersville. Arthur Neel (Neal) Edmonston and Gertrude Elizabeth Jones are my grandparents. I finally found my grandfather's parents names, Alley and Lizzie (Fergus) Edmonston. I am not sure if spelling is correct on these names. They died when my grandfather was very young and Arthur and his siblings were raised by different people. If you have any info, I would be very appreciative. Thank you

That is my family Mr. Fritz found in the census. I will look through my information tonight to see if I can find any of the names you mentioned. I would have to believe that the Barton's in Dunklin county were cousins of some sort. I know that William Floyd (Joe) Barton had 2 half sisters. All three siblings had different fathers. Rosetty Garner bn Aug. 8 1885 (married Elijah Wheeler on Dec 24 1902) and Millie Jane Bryant bn Aug 10 18??. I have a copy of my grand father's (Willie Lloyd Barton) birth certificate. It shows William Floyd's birthplace as Kentucky. I have a copy of Vernie Barton's Obituary, but it doesn't give too much insight into the Barton family other than childrens names and locations. William & Vernie had 8 children: Uvah Johnson Coy Barton Virgina (Vergie) Shrum Brown Ollin Barton Ollie Mae Gentry Barney Barton Willie Lloyd Barton I know that's only 7 but I cant think of the 8th. My grandfather was the youngest. I have a cousin (Ollie Mae's granddaughter) who is also trying to trace the geneology of the family. I will see if she is familiar with the names you mentioned. I hope this helps in some way. Thank you so much for your information and for passing on Mr. Fritz's info.

Barton was buried in Lulu Cemetry in Senath, MO. The death certificates have her last name incorrect. But it is her. Kim-Hope this is a big help.

I do not have your family in my records. I would like to try and connect these families. The Bartons are from Tennessee: McMinn and Gibson-then they went to Hurricane, Greene Co., AR. My Bartons are connected to the Hobbs, Rennels?, Totherow (Detherow) and thats about as far as I can get. The Hobbs and Bartons lived around Dunklin, MO and Rector, AR. Because of the spelling it can be hard to find them. Marriages have been hard to find as well. Some of the Bartons went to Flint, Geneese, Michigan and lived out the rest of their lives, but a few did come back to the Bootheal area. They found jobs in either a car factory or some other type of factory. Lets keep in touch, Kimberly P.S. Sorry it took so long to respond we have been vacationing.

My grandfather Willie Floyd Barton was born in Dunklin County in July of 1921. His father was William Lloyd Barton (known as Joe) and his mother was Verie Flowers. I have been told that William's father was named Washington Barton, but I've never really found any documentation on it. His mother was Nancy Garner. She remarried when Washington either died or disappeared. As for the Barton your looking for, I haven't heard the name. But I know Bartons were in Dunklin County. My grandmother said they were from Tennesse or Kentucky. I hope this helps in some way. Tracy Cook

Yes, I do think it is the same family the name for Adeline Lovey shown as Manorira A. just through me off plus the fathers name. Now I'm going to look for her siblings info and trying to find the father's 1st wife and Melvina's 1st husband. Thanks Again, Theresa

It is not uncommon to find someone listed with one name on a census and then using their middle name on the next census. I know you said that her name was Adeline Lovey but from the ages and the fact that Manorira?? is listed as Manorira A, I would say that is Adeline. The Anderson girl is listed as a Step Daughter to Carl. From the age difference between Melvina and the oldest children I would say Carl was married before Melvina and seems Melvina was married before Carl as well seeing as Carl has a step daughter. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/#search That is a great site for finding MO death certificates. It has an index of deaths from 1910-1955 with up to 1924 being available for viewing online. You can order the other ones for $1. I found James M Ladyman, being as he died in 1930 it is not available for viewing online. I wasn't able to find one for Adeline. I also searched for Melvina and Carl Tucker and didn't see anything. I did find one for Calvin G Tucker, but it too has to be ordered. That website also has alot of other good, useful information.
Is this them (from the SSDI) - ALVIN CAMP Oct 1903 01 Jan 1989 71603 (Pine Bluff, Jefferson, AR) (none specified) 430-10-6969 Arkansas ETHEL CAMP 06 Aug 1899 Oct 1984 72207 (Little Rock, Pulaski, AR) (none specified) 431-01-3579 Arkansas If this is the right couple, they probably are buried at Little Rock.
