I can only assume by Jan 2007, that Morris has died. Morris was in Grand Rapids, MI in 1930, but shortly after 1930, came back down to Dunklin County. It is my understanding that Morris was crippled in some way, but married. I do not know if children were born into this union or the name of the spouse. Frank was born 15 May 1882 in Weakley County, TN, USA and died 11 Jan 1947 Kennett, Dunklin, MO, USA. Effie was born 29 Aug 1878 Jackson, MO, USA and died 27 Oct 1948 Kennett, Dunklin, MO, USA. Talks about his wife Lula TUCKER who had just got a letter from him and she was dumfounded when reaching the town to get a telegram telling of his death. Also mention he was in the 140th Infantry as his one brother Rufus TUCKER age 24 years old. Also shows he is the son of William Riley TUCKER who is also known as Bud TUCKER and lives in Kennett and also has two sisters Florence JAMES, and Mrs. Versie CHANDLER both of whom live in Kennett. 3. Teresa Pee Dee Ridge is most likely Pee Dee Ditch. Pee Dee Ditch is probably about a mile from the US 62/MO 53 junction at Campbell. Go to Map Quest (www.mapquest.com) and search for Campbell (zip 63933). When the map appears, zoom in to the area which shows the junction with US 62 going eastward from Campbell. Pan eastward and find the first county roads (231 and 317). That's the Pee Dee Ditch area. My husband's gr-aunt and her family lived on CR 317 when they lived there before moving to Flint MI in the late 1920's. At least you have an idea as to where the Tucker family lived. 2. I do know that this index has been a great help to me. Before this, I thought Missouri was really behind in offering information on the web. Knowing the cause of death and their parents really helps round out the story for family members. I'll keep in mind to watch for mislabeled counties. Margaret

    1. [MODUNKLI] 1993 Death but 2002 Obit
    2. Debbi Geer
    3. Scenario - A relative disappears into thin air for no apparent reason. The authorities suspect foul play, but no body is ever found within weeks of the disappearance. Then some years later, a miracle happens - the body is found as is it was dropped from the sky and in plain sight for anyone to see. Could this happen to you? Could it happen in a small farming community rather than the most obvious setting - the metropolitan city area? The answer to both is yes and in fact it has happened in Dunklin Co MO. For those who lived in Dunklin Co MO in 2002, this story will sound familiar, but it is one that we must keep in mind should it ever happen to someone in our own family. Back in July 1993 during the week of the MO Peach Fair in Campbell MO, a young man, then 36, disappeared. The authorities from what I understand tried their best to find him, but came up with virtually nothing. It was just as if he decided that he was somewhat fed up with something in his life and left his hometown and family without any contact thereafter as if he wanted to be left alone. Then one day in the fall of 2001, a hunter found skeleton remains in a field in the rural area of Campbell. He reported the finding to the authorities who then proceeded to get the remains identified. After using various available services including DNA from the mother, they were able to identify the remains. In the meantime, the remains were given to the family which allowed them to have a closure in the incident. The case is still considered open with the hopes that the cause of death may be learned. We, the genealogical researchers, now have a research problem created - death is officially recorded as July 1993 (even in the SSDI) but the obit is found in a May 2002 newspaper and of course the funeral services are held in May 2002. Most genealogy programs will probably indicate that the difference between the death and the burial dates are too far apart, but we will need to write comments in our notes regarding the difference so that our children and grandchildren and other relatives will know the truth after we are gone. Today, we are experiencing more cremations than ever. Some request their ashes to be scattered somewhere whereas. Some families will keep the urn of cremated ashes in their possession. I know of two possible results - 1) Urn is buried at a later date; 2) The keeper of the urn passes away and then another family member decides to have the urn buried and a gravemarker set at that time. I know in my husband's family that an urn is being held by the parents with the instructions that it be buried with the child's father when he passes away. Only a few people outside the immediate family know about this. Again, the genealogical program will tell me something appears to be in error, but my notes will clarify the data. 3. While working on a special project, I have come across between 20 and 30 listings in the MO Death Index 1910-1955 which were indexed as Dunklin Co MO deaths but the certicates showed the death in another county (mostly at the state hospital in Fulton, Callaway, MO). Knowing that these misindexed certificates may prevent someone from finding a relative, I sent a list which consisted of the person's name as shown in the index, the death county and the certificate number to the Archives Reference email address given on the opening page of the index. I received a reply saying that the index will be corrected, however, the reply also noted that the Archives used a paper index which was produced by the MO Bureau of Vital Statistics. So please don't blame the Archives as they trusted the BVS. In closing, don't disregard a death certificate which shows the death in another county - look at it. If you find that it's been misindexed, please forward the information to the Archives Reference area and help others as you would want them to do in return.
