Thanks for the information. I am going to look deeper into Wm. Lacy's birth date. I know Given was under 21 on Sept 1893 for his marriage license and his father James E. Lacy had to give is consent, and according to others his birth date is correct. Margaret
Margaret While reading your message about the Lacy family, I happen to note a problem with the children of James Lacy and Elizabeth Gregory. You wrote their children were - Francis Elin Lacy b. Oct 13 1857 in MO Sarah Anquilla Lacy, b. Jan 18 1859 in MO James Buchanan Lacy b. Apr 6, 1860 in MO m. Sarah Catherine Elder Alfred Lacy, b. Mar 29, 1862 in MO Chism Lacy, b. Nov 1, 1863 in MO Nancy Jane Lacy b. Nov 1, 1865 in New Madrid, MO m. Benjamin Forester Hopper Moody, Lacy, b Nov 14, 1867 in MO Thaddius Constantine Lacy, b. 1870 Given WEsley Lacy b. Oct 27, 1873 b. Dunklin CO, MO m. Laura Ella Pennington (my line) William C. Lacy, b.Mar 1, 1874 in MO m. to Lydia My notation - You may want to check into Given Wesley Lacy and William C Lacy's births. You have them born less than 5 months apart. One of them is a year off, so you might want to try to figure out which one is right and which one needs to be adjusted. Just wanted you to have the right info in your records. You have listed several names who are also in my family and I believe there must be a connection. Although we don't know Elizabeth Jane Gregory's father, could he be your James Gregory? Jordan Lacy m. Nancy Anderson. Their Children are: 1. Louisiana Lacy Bozarth m. to Dr. Given Owen had a daughter Martha Owen who married Louis McCutchen. 2.James E. Lacy b. Mar 12, 1835 in New Madrid, MO. James married Elizabeth Jane Gregory abt. 1857 in Dunklin CO, MO. Elizabeth's birthplace is listed as IN in the 1880 census and in other information her birthplace is listed as TN. Her tombstone in the Lacy Cemetery in Dunklin CO, MO reads: Elizabeth J. Lacy 12/19/1833 - 1/22/1888. None of our information names her father. A note: The 1880 census for Four Mile, Dunklin CO,also lists a James Elder living with the family. Their children are: Francis Elin Lacy b. Oct 13 1857 in MO Sarah Anquilla Lacy, b. Jan 18 1859 in MO James Buchanan Lacy b. Apr 6, 1860 in MO m. Sarah Catherine Elder Alfred Lacy, b. Mar 29, 1862 in MO Chism Lacy, b. Nov 1, 1863 in MO Nancy Jane Lacy b. Nov 1, 1865 in New Madrid, MO m. Benjamin Forester Hopper Moody, Lacy, b Nov 14, 1867 in MO Thaddius Constantine Lacy, b. 1870 Given WEsley Lacy b. Oct 27, 1873 b. Dunklin CO, MO m. Laura Ella Pennington (my line) William C. Lacy, b.Mar 1, 1874 in MO m. to Lydia 3.Chism Lacy b. April 20, 1842 in MO m. Mariah Emaline Bray 1863 Given Lacy's daughter Fannie, m. Charles Pedigo son of George Pedigo and Martha Gregory. Martha Gregory and Elizabeth Jane Gregory were related also. I know this is a lot information, but my Lacy line is related to the Elder, Snider, Gregory, McCutchen, Bray, Pennington, and other lines in Dunklin and Stoddard Counties. Please email me direct so we can compare notes. Thanks. Margaret

James Gregory Sr. was born around 1795 in SC. It is thought that he married an Elizabeth Edwards in 1814 in IN and then to an "Unknown, maybe Sarah" Kitchen in IN. I would like to get confirmation on who he married and when if possible. James and wives had about 13 children. Some of this family are buried in Vincent Cemetery in Dunklin Co., they married into and are related to the Vincent, Bray, Tompkins, Creath, Leggitt, Lacy, Snider and Edwards families from Dunklin/Stoddard CO. The family moved to MO around 1841. I have been told that there are two Gregory families in this area of MO. I would like to find out if they are connected. And if there is any information on how they all connect. Thank you. Charlotte Christensen.
