Maude Ann Welch married Thomas James Craig. They had three children. My mother Alicia Coralee Craig is one of them. Ersie Juanita is the eldest, & Thomas James is the 2 born. I am doing a family tree for my great nieces & nephew. I am also curious as to where my family is from. I hope you can be of some help. Sincerely, Ruby Derrick

Surnames: Sandefur, Brackett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lMB.2ACI/564.1 Message Board Post: Rufus and Bell Sandefur were from just across the county line from Webster County, in McLean County. His uncle brought the four children back to McLean County, and then farmed them out to other families for workhands. They said that it was a very miserable life. One of the boys, Nathan, married a couple of times. His last wife was much younger than he was. She was still alive in the early 1980's and living in Calhoun when we talked to her. She told my mother and me a lot of information about the swampy area Rufus and Bell and the kids lived in while they were in Missouri and how they hated it, and about how horrible the kids' lives were after they came back to McLean County. Some of the families they worked for were really mean, according to him. I have more information. Have you seen the Sandefur book, "They Crossed the Green River"? Glenda Willis
