I'm looking for info on an H.S. Medley who was married to my grandmother's sister, Georgia Roberts. She is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with a very nice tombstone obviously put there by a devoted husband. She died in 1915. Do you have an H.S. Medley in your line? I'd like to know about him. Thanks!

Steele. Thomas was a year younger than my grandfather , as listed in the 1880 census of Caldwell Co. Ky. My grandfather Robert was 13 and Thomas was 12. Walter was buried in McMullen cemetery, Henderson Ky. and I have a photo of his headstone. Also in that cemetery is the headstone of Thomas P. Steele-Born Oct.7,1887-Died Oct 7,1906. I have photo of that stone also. I have been trying to locate Deborah Flores to tell her of this, but her e-mail address no longer works. I don't think the photo is my Thomas, as I have him as married to a Martha Shoemate, not Elizabeth Clark. Of course there could have been a second marriage. In any event, I can scan and e-mail the headstone photo.

Most people I talk to just say that TB was pretty rampant in those days and like a lot of diseases, nobody talked about what they died from. It's just now, as we're doing reseach about these people that we're finding this out. I have tried to find out what happened to the records from the St Louis sanitarium (which is now the courthouse) which is where my great-grandmother was treated and then later died, but so far, no luck.
