I was hoping to have James' parents names on it but it did not. Does anyone know who James Hicklins' parents were for sure? I have seen Rebecca Graham but the dates don't match. The russells came from Canada and the Trout lived in Oklahoma. In Wellington Kansas the Trout family are buried with the Forbes and Margaret Russell Forbes. Do we have a connection.

If there is then Mary Ann and her brothers are all part not full. Mary Ann's father William was supposedly born in SC and her mother Martha in GA. Somehow they got together by one family moving or both and met someplace. The kids were all born in AL. From what I recollect from researching the Cherokee nation I don't think any moved to AL. Also I don't think the Trail of Tears even went into AL on one of its four routes. From what I remember I thought the Cherokee came out of NC into TN then to KY/MO/AR on its four routes and finally ended up in OK. In conclusion, I'd be very skeptical about the Indian heritage as if she was of Indian ancestry she would have been offered land between 1900 and 1910 and I'm sure that if she had turned it down it would have been a story passed down through the Pennington family.     3. While doing some cleaning and trying to organize my information I found something I had that might help someone. The funeral home had 2 or 3 books from the previous owner that didn't get burned. I wrote them down in the order they were in the book not alphabetized. If you want me to look I will and it may take a while to search through all the names for the information. If you have the death date that will help to give you what info was in the book some names didn't have much.
