I was wondering if someone might have some cemetery information. I know several counties have published books on persons buried in there county. I have been trying to find information on a Nancy Ray. I believe, based on census, she was born in MO about 1863. She was living with my Palmer Smith on the 1920 census but not there on the 1930 census. I found what I thought might be her buried in Mt Gilead Cemetery, (Dunklin), MO but not 100% sure. Palmer died 3 Feb 1930 and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Campbell, (Dunklin), MO. Don't have a clue about his wife Myrtle. I have a copy of Palmer's death certificate but could not find anything for Myrtle or Nancy. Any help will be appreciated. Take Care & God Bless, Jim Smith Collinsville, IL

In 1957 went to Careyville Tenn. to see husbands grandfather who was 92. On the wall of his house was a tin type picture of settlers around a conestoga wagon, I commented on it and "grandpa" said oh yes I was born on a wagon train..........so here he was back in Tenn. He also contended that the name Adkins should be spelled with capital A and K and that it was of german ancestry. There are a number of AdKins around Careyville and La Follette Tenn......maybe some one from there could help you more...........(ps. not only was he back in Tenn. but that is where he raised his family, and they were coal miners).

His father was John William Adkins & I have been told that his mother's name was Anna Tennesse Smith Idon't know if this is true. But I found J W Atkins in Ark 1870 on the census w/wife A T Atkins & a daughter named Alice. I found John W Adkins in 1850 in Madisn Co Tenn census W/ wife Rachel & severel kids. 1860 census he is still there but no wife, but some of the same kids. Then he is in Malden MO in 1880 w/wife Anna, Alice, Ella,Della & my grandfather was not borned yet, I know these are my grandfather's sisters. I also have been told that my grandfather was the only boy, but when I was in Malden Mo there were other Adkins there & I found out that they were son's from the first marriage. On a probate of John O Adkins d. 1901 I think, there was a bros that wanted to be adminastor of the will & his name was Chesley Adkins & he was a kid that was in the houshold in the 1860 census w/ John William Adkins(widower) & some of Chesley's sister said NO to him being in charge of the will as he was a Drunk, and there first names were the same as the girls that were in J W Adkins household in 1860, but last names were differant as they got married. I don't know if this will help you, but I had nobody that was working on this line for so long so I kinda gave up on it. If you can add to what I have told you I would be intrested. THANKS JOYCE

Thank you for the info you sent.... IN looking closely at Aquilla as a possible father to Charles Brannum...with Jeffery being the same as Charles... I tend to doubt it... I also received some info from a James VanDerMark on this family and he seems to have EXTENSIVE family info on Michael Brannum and all of his children. He does show Aquilla and Vina and Jefferey, but he also shows that Jeffery married 1st to Alvida holly and 2nd to Aramintha Jane Holly. James shows 13 children for Michael and his wife.... I still can not find a logical connection from Michael's children...but know there has to be... Elizabeth Brannum, Charles Aunt, was living with them in 1880 and this james sent me an OBIT on Elizabeth when she died in 1913...no doubt she is his aunt.... So one of Elizabeth's brothers has to be Charles Father.... james does not have complete info on all of th! e children.. But I will take their names and look at each more closely in teh 1860 censuses of Mo and Ark and maybe even TEnn.... Let me know what you think... Thanks. lance

For a number of years I have been searching the Cardwell/Antioch area for signs of the above lines. I have had recent contact with a North researcher who provided me with some new info. My grandmother was Isa Lou, also called Icye Lou Eudaly who was brought to the area by her father John Edward Eudaly while a small child from TN. Her mother had died about 1900 in Dyer Co TN. Within 6 months of arriving John Edward, who worked in a saw mill (Bone Camp I believe) became ill and orphaned his four small children. They were Don Eudaly, Flossie, Isa Lou and Ruby Eudaly. Years passed and aunt Flossie married a man named Smith, after he passed she married uncle Harvey Smith. Icye also married a Smith, William I believe. After the death of William she married my grandfather Charles Barnes. Aunt Ruby married Jake Davis. During the intervening years the Eudaly children were raised by other family members. Emma Carter North and Sarah Carter Craig were aunts of the children and all lived in the Cardwell area. Sarah Carter Craig had one son named Virgil who lived in Cardwell and had 3 sons and possibly 2 daughters. I believe there was one son names Estis Craig who may possibly have gone to Paragould AR, and one daughter named Imogene Grady of Cardwell. If anyone knows any of the above families or has info that would help me, it would be most appreciated, I am trying to locate information for my grandmother's family before it becomes to late for me to find them. Thank you... Gena Gates Lally [email protected]
