PYLE born November 25, 1870, AR., and died February 05, 1906 Kennett, Dunklin, MO. He does have a headstone marking his grave site, in fact, it's a rather large stone with PYLE engraved across the bottom of it. I'm hoping that if I can see an obituary for WILLIAM it might have a few answers about his parents. thank you in advance for your assistance Lynn Dunk

He could tell me who bought the plots, but anyone could be buried there. My father and Mother bought family plot for three people, that my g-aunt Elsie Dodson Cherry is buried in , and there was two more , there is a man buried with no head stone (that was my g- uncle K.D. Cherry and a empty grave. So many of my famliy are buried in Cardwell with no head stones, two cousins, my brother, My g-grandmother, my grandfather, another g-aunt. I have been there twice and it seams to me that the cemetery is not big enought, so I think their graves are lost forever. But you may want to try to find the undertaker, they may have records like role 12 plot 3, that will give you a ideal as to where. Jennie

I have been to the Missouri State Archives Death Records. I did find my gr, gr, aunt, Tennie Richter, on it and I have ordered her DC, but it may be awhile before I get it. I guess they are pretty swamped since they came on-line with people ordering DC's. It is a wonderful Site. I have found quite a bit of my family on it. I have my gr grandmother's , Alice Young's, DC so I know she is buried in Marsh Cemetery, I am just trying to find out where in Marsh Cemetery she is. I am hoping that someone may know of where I could find burial records for people buried there who don't have headstones. I would think that there should have been records of that so they didn't bury more than one person in a plot. I am afraid though that those records may be lost to history. Thank you very much for you help though, I really appreciate it. Charlotte

My husband's great-aunt Bulah Houchin married Louis William "Louie" Goldsmith in 1909. She was born in 1892, he in 1885, and I have no idea when or where they died, but they lived in Louisiana in 1930, and one of their sons enlisted in WWII from Morehouse Parish, LA. According to the census in 1910, he owned a pool hall in N. Malden. According to a brother's WWI draft registration card in St. Francis, Clay Co., AR, Louie and his brothers Thomas, Arvel and Ollie were all farming together. They also had a brother Cleveland, but he must have died young. It appears all of Louie's brothers settled in Malden, and if I have names correct, they are: John Oliver Goldsmith, 3/31/1890 - 1/1963 Orville Jefferson Goldsmith, 8/6/1892 - 2/1971 Thomas Corbin Goldsmith, 8/22/1900 - 9/1975 If anyone has a cemetery book that might give me their exact dates of death, I hope to get obituaries for them. If anyone is related to these families, I hope to hear from them. Thank you, Shirley

Potter's Field is not the name of a cemetery. It was and sometimes still is a term to refer to a section of the local city cemetery in which those who had no or very little money were buried. In most cases, there was no gravestone set to mark the grave. The only way you can determine where a particular burial was made is that the cemetery records show the individual burials. Chances are that the people with Kennett ties and are listed on the death certificate as being buried in Potter's Field were buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery or the cemetery which was across the road from Oak Ridge and later destroyed for residential construction. It is said that you can tell in some of the yards that there were burials there from the depressions in the yards. Debbi Geer __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I would like to hear from any descendants of William Noah Burroughs (1884-1975) who lived in Malden. He and wife Lottie Jane had four children: Irene E. born about 1907, Earl T. born in 1909 & served in WWII, Mary R. born about 1917, and Robert born about 1921. Noah was my husband's great-uncle. There are probably other Boroughs/Burroughs family in the area and I would like to hear from them, as well. My husband's grandfather was Silas Boroughs, and sons that lived in that area were Gerald, Elmer, Loyd, and Cleveland. Thank you, Shirley in Tucson
