Were descended from Peter Van degeest and Aaltje Stoutenberg both from Utrecht, Netherlands, they were married 8 Dec 1848 in Pella, Marion, Iowa. I have done much research on this family. Maybe this will help. I have records with the name spelled DeGeest, Degast, Degase.
