Dear Lou Nell I know from marriage records that a John Arnold married Cynthia Hutchinson June 22, 1890 in Douglas County, Missouri. I know that this Cynthia was the daughter of Thomas Hutchinson . . . at least the marriage ceremony was held at Thomas Hutchinson's home. The family "story" is that John's second wife died during pregnancy and that the child was stilborn. Thomas Hutchinson's daughter, Cynthia Hutchinson was born November 19, 1873 and died January 1, 1891. This definitely fits the time frame. Gone But Not Forgotten: Cemetery Survey of the Eastern District, Douglas County: Denlow Cemetery: Arnold, Cynthia (Hutchinson) dau of T.B. & Elizabeth Nov 19, 1873-Jan 1, 1891 Since My John Arnold was the only John Arnold around Douglas County OF MARRIAGEABLE AGE at the time, I feel I that his second wife just has to be Cynthia. I guess I will never know for sure unless someone, somewhere in the Hutchinson family knows. For now . . . I am going to say that my John married Cynthia. Now I have to prove wife #1. "Family history" says that they were divorced soon after their marriage. I (know?) # 2 is Cynthia #3 is Parthena Hammons #4 is Ada Twitty #1 A John Arnold married Sarah E. Morris February 05, 1889 in Ava, Douglas County, Missouri. This might be that first marriage. John W. Morris and his 1st wife, Martha Embrey had a daughter Sarah E. The 1880 Census for Douglas County, Missouri, Campbell Township lists: 94-94 Morris John W. WM 30 Farmer MO MO Caroline WF 29 Wife Keeping House MO MO TN Nancy J. WF 12 Dau At home MO MO MO Sarah E. WF 11 Dau At home MO MO MO Rebecca E. WF 8 Dau At home MO MO MO Franklin WM 6 Son At home MO MO MO Merandy Md. WF 3 Dau At home MO MO MO Thos. W. WM 2 Son At home MO MO MO A Morris researcher knows that John W. Morris and Martha Embrey's daughter, Sarah E. married Joseph (Babe) Walker in 1893 either Webster or Douglas Co. Mo. She doesn't discount the fact that Sarah could have been married before. Again, this would all fit the time-line. Thanks for the information. Linda
