Hello- I have a book titled Missouri Newspapers on Microfilm at the State Historical Society of Missouri. You should be able to obtain these films from your local library through an interlibrary loan-ask at your local library about it or call the Historical Society of Missouri, 1020 Lowry St., Columbia Missouri 65201-7298. The book shows several papers printed in Ava. I would assume that the editor of the paper would be named on a copy of the paper. Maybe you could order some copies and study them over to try to identify the uncle.
