    3. Hello- I have a book titled Missouri Newspapers on Microfilm at the State Historical Society of Missouri. You should be able to obtain these films from your local library through an interlibrary loan-ask at your local library about it or call the Historical Society of Missouri, 1020 Lowry St., Columbia Missouri 65201-7298. The book shows several papers printed in Ava. I would assume that the editor of the paper would be named on a copy of the paper. Maybe you could order some copies and study them over to try to identify the uncle. The Douglas County Herald printed the following dates: Mar. 10, 1887-Apr. 28, May 12-June 23, July 7-Sept.16, Dec. 30 1887; Jan 5-Feb. 10, Dec. 23-Dec. 27 1888; Jan. 3-Feb. 7, Mar 21, Apr.4, June 6, Oct. 3, Dec. 17-26 1889; Jan 2, Dec. 25, 1890; Jan 1-June 18, July 2-Nov. 12-Dec.31,1891; Jan. 7-Mar 17, 31 Dec. 1892; Jan. 5, 1893-Sept. 7, 28 Nov., Nov. 9, 23, Dec. 7, 21 1899; Jan 13, 1900-present. Douglas County Journal Feb. 20, 1919-Sept. 9, 1920 Douglas County Record Nov. 4, 1915-Sept. 14, 1916 The Enterprise Feb. 20 1913-Oct. 28, 1915 Good Luck! Sheri at [email protected]
