Posted on: Douglas County, Mo Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Douglas/1516 Surname: McJimsey Ledbetter Ingram Cox ------------------------- I have a little information on a John Cox that his wife is buried in the family cemetery on the then Jack Cox farm. John's wife was the first person buried in the cemetery. "She was the first person buried in this cemetery. They put a rock wall around her grave because it was in open pasture land and they didn't want it bothered. It later became a burial ground for many family members including John Cox's parents, brothers, and sisters. The family believes that she died young from childbirth and I believe Aunt Edith told me her mother (Mary Alice Cox McJimsey) was only 12 when her mother died. John Cox's parents are buried here with inscriptions stating Jehu Cox 2/4/1822-3/26/1901 and Margaret Britton Hodge Cox 3/10/1827-10/26/1909." The Families of George Franklin McJimsey, Matthew Lee McJimsey, and John Cox moved to Bosque Co., TX in covered wagons from Ava, MO in the early 1900's. They all later moved to Lexington, OK.
