Lorenzo Dow HOLT, son of Marion and Talitha HOLT, was born in Douglas County, MO, September 11, 1877 and passed from this life at Mansfield, MO, January 5, 1967 at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 25 days. He was married to Nancy WOODS Feb. 1, 1902 and to this union 8 children were born, two of who preceded him in death. He reared his family in Douglas County where they operated a farm. He was converted and became a member of the Glendale Free Will Baptist Church in 1919. Survivors include two sons: Egbert HOLT, Kansas City, KS; Leonard HOLT, Mountain Grove; 4 daughters: Ethel CHALOS, Dyer, IN; Minnie BURKE, Mtn. Grove; Stella REED, Brooklyn, NY; and Alice BROWN, Springfield. Three brothers, Sherman HOLT, Selah, WA; Frank HOLT, Fort Scott, KS; and Holly HOLT, Granite City, IL. One sister, Isabell WEBBER of Little Rock, AR. 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were at 2 pm Jan. 8 in the Craig-Hurtt-Hutsell Chapel with Rev. Orvill STEPHENS officiating. Pallbearers included: Nick CHALOS, Marvin BURKE, George CHALOS, Donald KRET, Larry CHARLES, and Donald REED. Interment was in the Lone Star Cemetery. NOTES: Lorenzo's parents were William Marion HOLT and Talitha Catherine LATHROM. Nancy Katherine WOODS was the daughter of John Sevier WOODS and Louisa Jane SLUDER, born 23 May 1885 and died 5 Nov. 1963. Pallbearers Nick and George CHALOS were Lorenzo's grandsons, as was Marvin BURKE and Donald REED.
