Posted on: Douglas Co., MO Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/DouglasObits/43 Surname: Broos, Shiner, Campbell, Bingham, Minnik, Rathbone, Peebles, Robinett, Brown, Cargill, Lanyon, Morris, Robertson ------------------------- Obituary, Dec. 1975, no paper George Andy BROOS, son of Andy and Frances SHINER BROOS, was born Dec. 12, 1922 at Springfield, MO, and died at Springfield Dec. 1, 1975, at the age of 52. He grew up in Greene County and entered the US Army during World War II where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. On July 18, 1953, he married Kathryn CAMPBELL at Carthage, MO. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of their home; a son, John BROOS, of the home; a step-son, James BINGHAM of Springfield; a daughter, Carol BROOS of Springfield; two sisters, Agnes BROOS and Margaret MINNIK, both of Garden City, MO, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday in the First Christian Church with Rev. Mike RATHBONE officiating. A quartet composed of Mrs. James PEEBLES, Mrs. Toad ROBINETT, Oden BROWN and Joe CARGILL, sang, accompanied by Penny LANYON. Pallbearers were Fred MORRIS, Joe CARGILL, James PEEBLES, Francis ROBERTSON, and Donald ROBERTSON. Interment was in the Denlow Cemetery (Douglas County).
